Spring is upon us, and summer will be here before we know it. That means it’s time to consider getting some sun if you want to spend time outdoors. The thing is that the winter months have left you looking a tad pale.
Tanning beds are out of the question for you. The same is true for bronzing products. That leaves tanning at home. Since you don’t want tan lines, it pays to be careful about how you gradually soak up some rays. Here are some tips that will help.
Consider Your Skin Type
Your skin type is important to consider. Is your skin fair and tends to burn easily? If so, that will influence your overall tanning regimen. For those who have skin that’s already a little darker, there are still precautions to take; they’ll just vary a little bit from someone who’s light-skinned.
If you’re not sure where you fall, it never hurts to consult an expert. Once you know your skin type, it will be easier to determine how to enjoy nude tanning while minimizing the chances of sunburn.
Opting For The Best Time of Day
Whatever your skin type, remember that you want to work on the tan when exposure to UV rays is somewhat weaker. While the right time may vary based on what you live, there is a guideline that you can use to plan those nude tanning sessions.
For the most part, your best bet is to stretch out in the sun between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Do your best to avoid tanning between 4:00 and7:00 p.m. UV radiation tends to be the most severe during those hours.
Choose Tanning Products With Care
Remember the importance of identifying your skin type? Since the days of rubbing yourself down with baby oil and laying in the sun are over, you want to invest in the right tanning products for your skin.
If you’re light-skinned and prone to burning, a higher SPF (sun protection factor) is your best bet. Consider using a product with a rating of 50, or at least 30. Both do a decent job of blocking UVB rays while still allowing you to tan. As you begin to achieve the shade that you want, it’s always possible to revisit your choice and think about something with a lower SPF.
Whatever you begin with, do select a product that includes ingredients that help to moisturize the skin. That will also help prevent drying and reduce the chance of damage over the long term.
Start With a Relatively Short Period of Sun Exposure
At first, make sure you limit the amount of time you spend in the sun. It’s not a bad idea to start with 15–30 minutes. This is especially important if you lost all of your tan during the winter.
Remember that your genitals need special attention. Slather on the sunscreen with abandon. The last thing you want is to end up with sunburn in the most inconvenient area. If you have any doubts about the amount you applied, err on the side of caution and put on a little more.

Don’t Forget to Turn
The goal is to achieve an all-over tan. This means that every time you lay in the sun, remember to turn over at along the halfway mark. Set the timer on your phone or whatever it takes to remember.
It’s not necessary to constantly rotate like a chicken on a rotisserie. If you’re on your back for 15 minutes, follow that with fifteen minutes on your front. As you begin to tan, it will be easier to see if any areas need additional attention.
Remember That It’s a Process
Understand that you’re not going to achieve the look that you want after one or two rounds in the sun. It will take several to notice a difference. Don’t get impatient; your tan will get there little by little.
The point is to gradually tan at a pace that avoids sunburn and minimizes the chances for damaging the skin. While you may be tempted to start laying in the sun for longer periods, resist the urge. As the tan begins to show, you can stay a little longer than you did at first; just don’t overdo a good thing.

Whether you want a tan for yourself or the goal is to feel better about how you look during the next nudist gathering that you attend, exercise proper caution and take care of yourself. Once you achieve the results, all your efforts will be worth it.
No tan is a good tan! 😬
